How We work
The therapeutic process can profoundly influence the way we relate to ourselves and others. Humans are inherently wired for connection, and safe, supportive relationships play an integral role in helping our nervous systems regulate. When we experience understanding, care and consistency, it can gently counterbalance coping patterns or behaviours that may once have helped us survive but no longer serve us.
For those of us that have experienced trauma or relational wounding, connection to others may trigger a sense of vulnerability and discomfort. Early life experiences often shape how we relate to others, sometimes leaving us feeling guarded, disconnected or overwhelmed. Through the therapeutic process, we begin to explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion. Over time, this work can support healing while helping us develop a greater sense of safety within ourselves and in our relationships with others.
A central aim of our work is to support individuals in strengthening capacity and reconnecting with one's sense of agency - the ability to feel more aligned, intentional and empowered.
Our practice is grounded in trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming care. We work collaboratively with individuals across the lifespan, offering a space where one can honour their lived experience and emotional landscape, creating a sense of meaning that is uniquely their own.
As the lead therapist, Tammy focuses primarily on complex trauma, dissociation, and relational healing. Tammy’s approach integrates Relationally Integrative EMDR (RI-EMDR) which weaves together EMDR, Resource Therapy (Parts Work), Somatic Therapy, Attachment Theory and Polyvagal Theory, supporting clients to reconnect mind and body while developing a deeper understanding of their inner world.
Daniel, our Provisional Psychologist, brings extensive experience supporting young people and families navigating trauma, neurodivergence and significant life challenges. Daniel’s work is grounded in a psychodynamic and person-centered approach, drawing from Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Parts Work, and Trauma Informed Practice.
Together, we aim to create a safe and compassionate therapeutic environment where you feel genuinely heard and understood. Our work is collaborative and experiential, supporting individuals to reconnect with their strengths, build meaningful relationships, and move toward a more fulfilling and enriched life.
